I'chiliad unable to change gamemode in games I updated from a previous version to ane.thirteen. The fault message is "unknown control". I looked on the wikipedia to see if the command had been changed, and it told me the command is "gamemode" without the /, which of class just prints the words to the screen as a message.
Is this a known issue, and how do I fix it?

BTW, this only happens in single player. It worked fine on the Realm I play on (couldn't find the button to edit my post)

To execute a command in chat you take to put "/" right before information technology. Post the entire command you're trying to execute aswell as the entire error message.

Gamemode commands require the full word now, it takes a bit of getting used to, its why I got into 1.xiii mods with a mod that allows the numbers called 'gamemode fix' since the whole word is needed to brand the gamemode commands work now, that'due south the matter near the 1.13 command system being completely reworked, y'all notice the things that were simple to be a bit odd after a while if you lot haven't played or you didn't know near the changes at all well now yous know that a letter of the alphabet isn't enough to make the commands work now, full words are necessary to complete the commands requests.

The command I used (/gamemode) is the command that has always been, and is the i on the wiki. Whether I put c, creative, or a number after it is immaterial, since information technology's the /gamemode portion that isn't working

if you have to type it, you lot didn't enable cheats, thats why its non working

Yes cheats being enabled would help with that, otherwise yep ane.13's commands also every bit using the tab key or looking through the commands in the command log or on the Minecraft wiki would help.
